You'd think there wouldn't be much magic left to find in the daily struggles of people trying to go through life, but I found fresh magic in spades in these stories. Keating works quickly in these, pulling me into a vivid picture and making me need to know what is going on in these characters lives. Nothing is wasted, everything focuses exactly on the pertinent moment without revealing too soon what that moment is. One of the stories includes the line "Not everybody can be happy," but I could be happy reading.Product details

I'm proud to say that I've meet such a great writer. I look forward to the many book's to come.
I loved each story and Andrew's characters. He made mean me feel each character's plight and successes. It is a book that I will go back and read to find what I missed the first time!
If you are looking for positive life lessons, go to the grocery store and buy pocket book of quotes. These are not stories of hope. Andrew Keating captured the humor in each character's struggle to live. I wanted to apologize to the characters for laughing, but Andrew weaved humor into the despair. Sometimes laughter is the only thing we have.
Keating has put together a wonderful collection of short stories. He brilliantly stitches together the peculiar dimensions of humanity that are neither faults nor strengths, but rather are the tangled complexities of character that pull us together and push us apart. More please.
