I don't usually read comics or graphic novels but I was given this book by a friend who is a comic book enthusiast. I was taken aback at how much depth in a book with so little words. The illustrations took you right in to Whiskey's relationship with his owner. This definitely changed my "comics are for teenage nerds" perception.
I fell in love with Whiskey in the first few pages, as I witnessed his undying loyalty to his owner. This type of devotion seems to be getting more and more rare in today's society, as divorce rates are shooting through the roof, the mentality of all is fair in climbing the corporate ladder, and parenting is becoming more about competing with friends as oppose to supporting them. Perhaps that is why this novel captured me immediately, as I was anxious to become involved in such a story. The simple text, with the less is more approach, complimented the detailed illustrations perfectly. I would have loved to have a bit of background knowledge as to what led the owner to commit what he did (don't want to be a spoiler) at the end. This is only because I became so attached to Whiskey and felt the need to know more about his (therefore his owner's) life. An amazing read!
Whimsical story with serious undertones I fully enjoyed and think everyone who reads the book will feel good . Suitable for all ages..buy this book!
Beautiful illustration and a heart wrenching story about the lengths a dog will go to for his best friend. Brought me to tears.
The story portrayed the deep devotion of the dog towards his owner and the illustrations were impressive as I truly felt the emotions of the dog, Whiskey. I believe that this story could be made into a great movie!!!

Whiskey is a special character who will not give up on his human friend.
Would that we could all have such a faithful friend in our lives. The graphics and text are a perfect fit for this tale of hope. An excellent read.
This story made me miss all the dogs who have been my friend over the years. It was a touching story about the loyalty of one such dog and his Person, a story of two inseparable souls. The artwork and storyline blended perfectly. What a great tale of love, thank-you k. kobi!
