Carnival Games The Perfect Crimes Richard Margittay 9781441586834 Books
I bought this book on accident. I was looking for a good read and came across it. Being a mother and enjoying many carnival outings, I felt intrigued by the title. After reading the book, I was disgusted. This is written by a man who, police official or not, overextended himself at a carnival and is looking for blood. I once knew a few "carnies" and this book, along with much of society, puts a really stereotypical persona on them. Am I SUPPOSED to go to a carnival and expect to win a teddy bear I can barely fit into my vehicle for $5? Come on Mr. Margittay, get real. Let's be honest. You are looking for a reason to "expose" something ridiculous. Everybody is out to make a living, right? Are we supposed to go to the carnival for handouts? I read stories of people spending hundreds of dollars on a game. To me, that is just a greedy moron you are trying to let off the hook for spending their rent money on a game. When my child spends all $20 worth of tokens at Chuck E Cheese on one game with the hopes of winning the jackpot, do I write a book to tell what a scam it is? No. And do you know why? Because I allowed my child to take a chance on a game that they COULD have won the jackpot. Your odds in this book are highly GUESSED and I would like to see proof of a lot of the information you provided. Much of your information you obtained was googled, and let me tell you the internet can lie. You can find good and bad in just about everything googled. You are not well informed, likely just scorned because you or a family member made the idiotic decision to overextend yourself. You will never go anywhere, carnival included, and be guaranteed anything. I have come home multiple times with teddy bears, cotton candy, happy kids, and a purse still full of money. It is the consumer, not the game mister. I cannot stand how America has become this melting pot of pointing the finger. Wake up people. Do not spend money you cannot afford. And, like I said, we've played and won. We've also played without winning and without overextending our needed money. Grow up Mr. Margittay and take your losses we all know you faced like a man and realize you are not a victim, but a greedy person who lost.Product details

Carnival Games The Perfect Crimes Richard Margittay 9781441586834 Books Reviews
Carnival Games The Perfect Crimes, is very well written. I had always known about the hanky-panky, but didn't know the workings of the corruption responsible for rampant illegal gambling and fraud on the American midways, primarily targeting children. The author, a career cop, explains evidence of cons with the use of action photos and also identifies culpable parties after a lenghty investigation. I highly recommend this book to all carnival-goers and police officers.
